Hwang Eun-Yeong
Abstract
This study is to find out the overall status of telehealth music therapy perceived by domestic music therapists in the era of pandemic and to find out how to use and apply it in the telehealth music therapy area. A survey was conducted on music therapists who conducted music therapy sessions from January 2020 to April 2021, when the first COVID-19 patient occurred in Korea, and a total of 100 copies were analyzed. The results of the study are as follows. First, it was found that real-time communication media were used the most in telehealth music therapy, and difficulties in communication and activities with clients were recognized the most. Second, for effective sessions of telehealth music therapy, music therapists reported that they provided clearer visual and auditory data in face-to-face situations. Third, it was reported that telehealth music therapy was able to prevent infection problems and the difficulty of spending a lot of time preparing. Fourth, telehealth music therapy is expected to proceed the most with goals related to the field of emotional technology. The results of this study are meaningful in that they provided basic data to music therapists who wanted to perform telehealth music therapy after the pandemic era and suggested the possibility for the expansion and development of telehealth music therapy in the future.
